Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today, we're taking a look at installing the CURT custom fit vehicle wiring for flat-towed vehicles on a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. Now, this kit is custom fit to our Wrangler as well as a few other generations of Wrangler as well as the Gladiator. And when it comes to flat-towing vehicles, one of the things that's really come with technology is diode wiring, and long gone are the days of magnetic tow lights, mostly because vehicles today just aren't magnetic. And that's one more cable that you have to run down the vehicle and it's just one more thing to store. So having diode wiring is really nice because you can simply plug in your umbilical and it'll send the running lights, turn signals, and brake lights to the towed vehicle lights. That way, it keeps you safe and legal. more

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2023 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit on a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. Now depending on your needs, the diode kits are available in a few different configurations and really it comes down to what other accessories do you need to pick up. So you can get the kit with a 4 pole end, with no ends on it. You can also get it with an umbilical that is a straight cable, a coiled cable or a hybrid cable. And that's gonna be important if your tow bar, our Roadmaster has our umbilical, but you are gonna need to have that component to make sure that your flat tow system works. So getting it with your diode wiring might not be a bad time to group that all together. more

Clayton: Hey guys, how's it going Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today, we'll be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install Roadmaster's Diode Wiring Kit on our 2020 Jeep Wrangler. So our diode wiring is going to be one of the main components to our flat towing setup. This uses our factory brake light, factory turn signals, and taillight signals to keep us safe on the roadway. So our kid is going to allow us to use our factory wiring and it keeps all of our wiring contained inside of the vehicle so we don't have to use magnetic lights or any sort of other outside lights that are going to be sticking on the back of our Jeep. Our diodes are going to protect our Jeep's factory wiring from any backfeed that might come through our taillight signal so we don't have to worry about our taillights being messed up on our Jeep.In terms of installation, installing our diodes really isn't that bad. more

Now our diode kit is going to allow us to use the signals from our motor home and transfer them to our Jeep's actual tail lights. Rob: Hey everybody, Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler.Now if you want to tow your Jeep behind your motor home, you're going to need to have your lights, because when we're going down the road, just like when you're pulling a trailer, we need to be safe and let all the other drivers around us know what's going on. And whether that's we're driving at night we need to have our tail lights on, or we need to change lanes on the highway. We want to make sure those signals are getting to the back of the Jeep because that's going to be the furthest point back.And you can see the lights on our Jeep are matching what's going on on our motor home. And you can also see we didn't have to change any of the outward appearance of our Jeep. Because we do have the option of using those magnetic lights, but then the Jeep's top here is not metal. So we'd have to find somewhere to mount them, either on the side or on the bumper somewhere, and then we'd have to run the wire up to the front of the Jeep to the back of the motor home. more

Today, on our 2010 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles.Now the purpose of the wiring is to transfer the lighting signals from the back of your motor home to the back of your Jeep. That's not only going to keep you legal, but it's going to allow other motorists to know what your intentions are as you go down the road. Now one thing I like about this kit is that it's going to have built in diodes, which are going to protect your Jeep's factory wiring if a short or an electrical issue we're to occur on your motor home side.Now the wiring is going to come pre-attached at the front end with a four pole flat connector. Now what I recommend doing, like we did on our Jeep, is actually upgrading to a six way round connector like we have here. And that's just going to give you a little more options to run other accessories like a charge line kit for example. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler, we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Universal High Powered Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-154.This is what our diode kit's gonna look like when it's installed. It's gonna be one of five main components on a flat tow setup, this is gonna give us our proper lighting functions at the back of our vehicle to safely flat two the vehicle.This is what our diode kit looks like when we get it. We're gonna have our diodes, we're gonna have our 30 foot of wire that's gonna go from the front of our Jeep to the back, we're gonna have our tether that's gonna go from the front of our Jeep to the back of our RV, we're gonna have some zip ties to help hold up our wiring when we run it to the back of the vehicle, and we're gonna have some wire loom to give our wiring a nice finished look.Our diodes, what these are for is these are gonna help protect our factory wiring from any back feed from our RV, if there's a wiring issue and vice versa. You're also gonna have some butt connectors. Now for this particular kit, you can see we had two 4 pole ends. This is gonna give you all the proper lighting functions to safely flat tow your vehicle.One thing to keep in mind. If you're installing a braking system, you will need a brake-lite relay for this vehicle. You can find it on our website using part number RM-88400.Here we have your flexo-coil. This wiring kit is gonna allow you to hook your vehicle up to your RV and get all the necessary lighting signals transfer from it to your vehicle. This includes your left turn, right turn, tail lamps, and brake lamps, so you'll be DOT compliant in all states.There's no cutting, no splicing required with this wiring kit, it just plugs in line with your factory wiring. The control box included will separate its circuits from your factory circuits, so you don't have to worry about any of the signals coming from your RV effecting the wiring on your vehicle. Everything you need to hook up to your RV is included, and it's custom fit for your Jeep. Speaker 1: Today on our 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles. Part Number HM56202. This is what our wiring looks like when it's installed. This is gonna provide us with all the proper functions when we're towing our vehicle, brake light, running lights, both turn signals, and our grounds. Now what's gonna set this apart from some of the other kits out there is the diodes are already integrated into a box, so you're not gonna have to cut any wires, or make any attachments. It's gonna plug directly into your tail lights, as opposed to some of the other ones where it's gonna comes with the diodes, but you have to splice into the existing wires running to your tail lights.In your kit you are gonna get a dust cover. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Roadmaster diode wiring kit for towed vehicles with the seven wire to six wire flexo-coil kit, part number is RM-15267.Now this wiring kit's going to be the perfect solution for towed vehicles. This is going to take a working seven pole plug and we're going to transfer that right back as if our Jeep we're a trailer. So anytime the blinkers, brakes, or running lights come on in our RV, that's going to be transfer back and we'll see it on the lights on our Jeep.Now let's test our lighting system out. You'll want to hook it up to either a tester or your motor home. Start by turning on our running lights. Then we do our left blinker, our right blinker.Now the diodes are going to play an important role in our towed vehicle wiring, these prevent backfeeding. more

Hopkins Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Custom Taillight Wiring for Towed Vehicles, part number HM56200. Here's what our wiring looks like fully installed. I do want to mention, we did cut off the four pole end that came with our kit, and we decided to put on a six pole round that is sold separately. Our wiring is going to let us flat tow our Jeep and safely get down the road and have all the required lights such as our clearance lights, brake lights, and turn signals.This is going to wire up our vehicle to accept lights that are coming from our RV and control the lights on our vehicle, so that when we're driving down the road everybody will know what's going on, whether we're slowing down and hitting the brakes or turning on our turn signals. Our wiring is custom, which means it's going to be made particular to your vehicle, and the connection points are going to connect behind the taillights here. It's also going to have a converter box with diodes in it that are going to protect our vehicle's electrical system from any feedback or anything that may go wrong on the RV end.Now, when we're not flat towing our Jeep, our Jeeps light's are going to work just like normal and they're not going to be affected at all. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2015 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler, we'll be having a look at and installing the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit. Part number RM-154. With our Roadmaster Wiring Diode Kit installed on our Jeep, we don't have to worry about using magnetic tow lights when we're flat towing our Jeep behind our motor home. This would utilize our factory bulbs in the factory tail light assemblies, giving us all the functions that are required by law in order to safely flat tow our vehicle behind our motor home. We'll have our working tail lights, turn signals, and brake lights, treating our Jeep like a trailer behind our motor home. With these diodes, we don't have to worry about any voltage from the RV being back fed into the sensitive electronic components of our Jeep causing damage. Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how to get them installed. To begin our installation, we're going to start with swapping out our connector on the end of our wiring harness. more

This is part number TM781124. This harness protects the towed vehicle from feedback, but it does not protect the motorhome from feedback. Here in the middle is going to be a very similar set up to the TrailerMate, this one's from Hopkins. This is going to be part number HM56200. Again uses a T-style connector so we're going to plug right into our factory harness. This is a diode pack, this is like having four diodes in one little box. more

Hopkins Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to show you how to install the Hopkins Custom Taillight Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles, part number HM56200. What this is going to allow us to do is hook up our motor home, and it's going to operate the lights on the vehicle just as if we we're sitting inside the car turning the signals on. It does that with the diode converter here, so this box has built-in diodes. This is going to prevent any back feed into the electrical system of the towed vehicle, and the diodes are going to convert whatever signal it's getting from our taillights into a usable signal. That diode converter is going to take the signal coming in from the motor home, it's going to translate it into signals that the vehicle can use to operate its taillights. Great thing about it is when it's not connected to your motor home, there's going to be absolutely no interference. Now to begin our installation, we need to remove the driver's side taillight. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2014 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler, were taking a look at in installing the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, Part Number: RM-154. The first thing that were going to want to do in the installation of our Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit is going to be to remove the Phillips head screws here at the back of the taillight and remove the taillight assembly from the vehicle. Once you we have it removed from the backside of the vehicle, well go ahead and unplug the manufacturing wiring harness. To do so, depress the tab and pull out. Then well pull back the tape here and peel back the wire loom so we can expose these wires. Once we have the wires exposed, well go ahead and take a wire tester and test our circuits. Now go ahead and test our right turn signal. more

Hopkins Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2013 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler we'll be installing the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Kit for Towed Vehicles; part number HM56200. To begin our install, we'll start with the tail lights. We'll go ahead and remove the rear tail lights. To remove the tail lights, we'll remove the two fasteners that secure it to the body; slip it out of its position. To remove the wiring, we'll press on the locking tab and then remove the connector from the socket. Now we can go ahead and set the tail light aside for installation later. Next, we'll repeat the same process on the other side. Now we've removed the tail light assemblies and we can gain access behind it. more
